"I loved Sing London's piano project and I wished I could join in, even though I can't even play Chopsticks. I therefore jumped at the chance to take part in the Talking Statues project. I had great fun imagining what The Reading Girl in Manchester Central”

The Reading Girl was bought in Italy by Daniel Adamson, the first chairman of the Manchester Ship Canal Company.
In 1938 she was given to the library by the Adamson family and there she still sits. But what is she reading? Originally, a poem called The Angel's Story, which was printed on paper and pasted into her marble book. Yet, by the time she came to the library, this had disappeared. What should she be reading? Suggestions are welcome at Manchester Central Library..
